SELF-PORTRAIT MULTIPLES: RECURSION
For this project, I was inspired by the concept "recursion" I learned in the CS class. With that concept, one way to solve a maze is to clone yourself at each intersection and have your clones cloned themselves again and again at every intersection until one of them sees the exit door. Your clone then returns to the original intersection and tell your previous clones the path to the exit door. "Recursion" means every clone do the same things: clone themselves at intersection and return when they see the exit doors.

With that in mind, my photo depicts myself holding the map and trying to clone myself until I get to the exit. I try to have some interaction between clones like sharing the map and giving the map to each other (this was failed because I accidentally hid myself).
The creating layer masks process wasn't difficult, but the most challenging part was to take all these photos. I was outside so the sunlight keep changing that I had to take many photos (about 70-80) but I was just able to choose 9 photos which have similar sunlight. Also, people keep staring at me. Another problem is that the scenery where I live isn't a great place to take pictures. I tried to go to two parks but the result doesn't change much. Houses are built randomly, trees are cut randomly, and electric wires are hung everywhere.

Overall, I think this is a really great chance for me to practice layer masks. I was amazed at how real this could be when I tried to make the shadow appear as real as possible. And I didn't expect the interation would seem that real as well!
